ProjectTrack SQL Server Edition

Upgrading SQL Server's database

Before you start working with your new version/release of ProjectTrack you need to upgrade the SQL Server database

To upgrade the database, follow these steps:

If you installed the administrator files, go to the Start button, go to Programs and find the folder ProjectTrack SQL Server. Under this folder there is a program called SQL Server Tools. Click on it

Once the program starts, select the language you want to use.

Next select the option Upgrade and existing ProjectTrack database and press Next.

The next screen asks if you have done a backup of your SQL Server (ProjectTrack) database.

We recommend you create a backup before continuing with the upgrade.

Select Yes and press Next to continue.

The wizard will ask you to login into SQL Server. The User ID and password requested is NOT the one you defined for the application, but another one you already have. This could be the one you created when you installed SQL Server, or one given to you by your database administrator.

In the example below, we are using the sa (system administrator) user to login into the Company\SQL Server.

After pressing OK the wizard will proceed to upgrade the database.

If everything goes well, you will see a screen like the one below. If an error occurs, the wizard will give you the details of the error and advice on how to fix it.

You are now done.

Now you can install ProjectTrack in the rest of the workstations.
